Spring is the season of new growth, and the signs of change are all around us. Flowers smatter parks and lawns, the days are longer; brighter and warmer. Our emotions are lifted by the extra light and raised temperature. Springtime is seen as a time of growth, renewal, of new life being born, and of the cycle of life once again starting. It is also seen more generally as the start of better times. At this time of year we begin to feel less sluggish, and become more open to inviting changes - both big and small - into our lives. The symbolism of spring is one most people can appreciate. In all cultural traditions, the world over, it is a time of re-birth and new beginnings. It signals a time of starting over for many of you. The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live. It's a cliche, but change has always been the only constant. The pace of change has accelerated greatly and we all need ways to deal and cope accordingly. Every year, I offer my 2 for the price of 1 special (hypnosis or life coaching) to make sure you are grounded and ready to step into your future. These sessions can be in person or on the phone.
With Spring and Summer arriving, celebrations will be taking place. Book now for any weddings, renewal of vows, committment ceremonies or corporate events where an inspirational talk can inspire and uplift your company. If an officiant is needed, contact me and I can design a ceremony that will be remembered for a lifetime.
namaste and sweet blessings,
Rev. Dr. Louise-Diana
Those who deal well with change will have a good reservoir of emotional, physical and mental energy from which to draw when things get tough.
STARTING OVER
At a time when jobs, money and career, relationships, affordable education and retirement seem to be fear-laden topics for so many, we have got to begin to look at it from a miracle-minded perspective and shift our thoughts from the ego to the miraculous -- from lack and limitation to infinite abundance; from fear of what you don't have to the freedom to run with what you do have; and from neurotic patterns to the love that sets you free.
Starting over again, whether if it is a result of a divorce, or death of a spouse, or the loss of a job after many long years, can be painful to experience. Starting again, has caused many a hardship, anxiety, separation or depression. We all, at one time or another, have had to pick ourselves up and start again, even if the cause was injury that resulted in changing sports. An extremely painful experience to the person who felt their life depended on it as an entry into a higher education.
We have to accept the fact that changes have to be made in life. That may require help and seek authentic teachers or specific coaches who can create the place for re-evaluating and unleashing the fear that takes place. Recognize what caused the changes. If it is a marital problem or relationship issue, where did the problem start? Could it have been avoided, or can you recognize it and make changes so that it does not happen again.
Read books and, I can't stress this enough, find and attract credible teachers. When we need to start over, there is enormous fear and support is needed.
ITS HARD TO ADMIT THE TRUTH
Know when a relationship is over. People hang on for years before finally letting go. How about doing it with dignity and respect?
Admit that you have lost your job, and sit down and think about what other type of work you may be eligible for or been trained in. If you cannot find a job, then learn a trade. Take a night course, an aptitude test, or think about what you always wanted to do, but never had the chance. Change can be inspirational!
Teach a sport, or become a coach if a sports injury keeps you from participating.
Meet other people in person. Attend social-events and expand your comfort zone. Get on with your life and be happy again.
The Top 8 Ways to Start Living Your Life
Life either happens to us, or we take hold of life and live it. Here are 8 Ways to get a life and start living it.
1.Give yourself permission to claim your life. That’s right — permission. You’re the only one who can decide you are in charge of your life. Even though it feels like you’re not supposed to do so, turn off the internal editors, the old tape recordings, the “shoulds, have tos, and musts”, and the rules that didn’t come from you.
2.Define what living means to you. Just picture yourself at the end of your life looking back. What words would you want to describe how you lived your life and who you are as a person?
3.Stop living in the future. Every time you think “someday” or “when I have time I will,” stop. Ask yourself, “Why not now?” Think about this sentence, “I always wanted to, but never did.” Start doing the things you always planned to do. Choose your life every morning. Plan one thing you will do that day to feel alive.
4.Surround yourself with people who enjoy living. They’ve obviously discovered how to have a life and live it. Why not hang with the pros? Lay down your pain and your anger. Carrying them around makes living harder and less fun. It doesn’t bring anything, and it steals a lot.
5. Create energy. Jump to forgiveness and love, then figure things out. Most conclusions we jump to are not only wrong, they’re negative. Negative conclusions lead us to prepare a defense. Being on the defensive isn’t living. It’s hiding from life.
6. Learn the physical symptoms of when your head and heart become disconnected. We know when we’re having a knee jerk reaction, when we’re feeling sorry for ourselves. Know when you are feeling depressed and move into action. You can't be unhappy when you are physically moving.
7.Take small risks that push your boundaries in every way. The joy of life is packed in learning that matches our skill set. When we stretch just a bit intellectually, physically, emotionally, we grow. Living is growing. Even your cells know that.
8. Value and protect the people and the places you care about. A job isn’t a life. It’s just a part of one. Let the people you care about come first, and let everyone know that you do. Re-read numbers 1 and 2.
SURRENDER TO SOURCE
My years of teaching yoga humbles me in a daily practice to check in with my body, mind and relationship to God. I feel like I have the opportunity to start over with this ritual every day.
We come into life with whatever we’ve got. It’s ours to do with it what we will. It took me a while to figure that out — that my life isn’t just what happens to me. Indeed, I could take hold of it and step into every new circumstance, new joy and sorrow and see what waits for me.
